The Arrival: Stunning Sydney - Part One

Arriving in the northern business district, Sydney felt like a bustling hub of commerce, yet strangely calm. Sunlight crashed through branches, giving respite from the heat and the glorious jacaranda trees, petals carpeting the footpath, led us downhill towards our accommodation for the next four nights.
We didn't waste time, as we knew three days simply wouldn’t be enough to see what we planned, never mind the rest.

Our stroll down to the waterfront was warm but lovely. To say we appreciated the breeze down by the wharf would be an understatement!

Our first real viewing of the Sydney Harbour Bridge left Two's Company slightly underwhelmed. It wasn't until we were closer that we realised the magnitude, the colossus, incredible feat of infrastructure that spans the river from one side to the next.
We were ferry-bound. Walking along the quay past Luna Park reminded us of home; it looked out of place and we had sympathy for the residents who looked out at the smaller-scale pleasure beach.

The ferry raced across the harbour from Milsons Point to Circular Quay, offering us fabulous images of both the Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. We weren’t disappointed as we glided past the latter to arrive and dock.

The rest of the evening saw us enjoying a stroll around The Rocks, eventually reaching “Barangaroo.”

What a glorious name and a wonderful spot to watch the sunset and relax before our ferry back across the harbour.

I believe it was at that very moment when Two’s Company fell in love with Sydney.
