Opera to Bondi: A Right Royal Time in Sydney Part 4

Our final day in Sydney started with a stroll over the Harbour Bridge and a fantastic view of the Opera House.

The bustling market below was interesting enough to entice us down. The smells were wonderful, street food cooking and massaging our senses. Eventually, we settled for the most incredible sweet potato fries at the Mercantile, "four doors down!" due to refurbishment.

The façade was still covered in the original green tiles; a hurried photo pinged away to cousin Cindy for verification brought back a joyous comment, so, Guinness was the order of the day.

Next stop: singing 🎵! Well, that is the Opera House. Impressively huge.

Two's Company enjoyed being tourists and taking extended photographs as the rest of our world watched on.
Marching bands met us in the Botanic Garden as the State House came alive, spectators watching from every vantage point.
Clearly, something was afoot as the Royal Standard was unleashed from its strappings so it could blow gently in the afternoon breeze.
All this as the national anthem struck up. It was nothing less than a privilege to see Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, inspect members of the Australian Army and Navy to mark the Armistice and begin the weekend of remembrance.

Next stop was the ANZAC memorial and cathedral before heading off to James’ favourite place: the beach.
Not just any beach, but the world-famous Bondi Beach. As enthusiastic as ever, James took to the water.

As evening fell and the sky grew dark with clouds of colour, the sun set for another day.
Two’s Company headed back to the city with memories and thoughts of Sydney and what lay in store beyond the horizons!
