Back in Italia

From Saint Moritz to Tirano, it’s hard to believe, but Thursday's journey through the mountains back into Italy had scenery that surpassed that of the glacier express yesterday. 

Out of two journeys, the one we’d choose again and again would certainly be this one. The spectacle of skiers, skiing downhill and then to see cross-country skiers take on a frozen lake was fantastic. Such a frozen wonderland was simply incredible. 

Still feeling the excitement of looking  out across the Alps and seeing the snow-topped mountain ranges and then the lush green valleys.

Surprised to see cars head-on, overtaking each other as the mountain train shared the road with everyday vehicles. 

We can most definitely say that being up there on a slow train to Italy has so far been a highlight and we’d definitely recommend the route from St Moritz to Tirano!
