Such a fabulous start to the adventure, so many memories of rushing our daughters to Skipton for trains to Leeds, how roles reverse over time! So perfectly timed and driven by Aimée, with a quick photo and then off, before we knew it, next stop Leeds. The great railway god has been kind to us given recent events of mayhem across the iron road network.

Just 12 hours previously, we’d agreed that this felt different, it didn’t feel the same as that holiday feeling but neither of us could quite work out why…Nevertheless, we are now off and sitting comfortably in our first class leather seats, more comfortable given the gratis “Hop On Board,” well it’s almost fine ale after all. Next stop the Cross, the smoke, and a short stroll to the gateway to our European adventure, St Pancras International.

So passport control, what a manic experience, the camera thingy clearly didn’t like the look of the old boy which meant an audience with the French Police long before expected. Passport examined thoroughly and eventually the stamper doofer thingy was clunked and we were back on track with around 500 others, surprising to see how many choose to travel via the tunnel to the continent. That aside, how blooming warm is it, one of us was perspiring like mad. A new experience waiting to board the Eurostar to Paris.
And relax looking forward to premier snack and vino offerings as we travel onward. Ha ha ha so excited feeling like a little ‘un in a sweetie shop. No prizes for guessing who’s writing this at the moment! 😂

This Eurostar is like well swift. Flying underwater and heading like the wind toward Paris. Tea was grand although slimline picking portions, mind you, we shall not complain about the wine. Next stop Paris and a dart across the city to book into our accommodation for the night.

Hmmmm… and so to bed! Sweet dreams one and all 🛌 💤
